6 weeks into it and I am still eating mostly raw vegan! The first question I get: “How do you feel?” I feel GREAT! I’m working on new recipes and experimenting with what I “like” and “don’t like”. For example….. I am OBSESSED with Asian Food. I thought Pad Thai would be one of the most difficult dishes to give up. Then I came across a “zoodles” recipe (essentially noodles made out of zucchini)! I’ve always loved zucchini so needless to say, I was in HEAVEN when I chowed down on the deliciousness of a fully raw Pad Thai dinner!
Another question I have been asked is whether or not I have lost any weight. Let me preface with saying that in normal conditions, MOST people should lose weight. However, I have been under an immense amount of stress at work and I am almost certain adrenal fatigue is the cause for my staying stagnant (in fact, I am even GAINING weight)! Until I overcome the stress I am in, I don’t expect to be dropping pounds. Which brings me to my next point on meditation…
When I first came across meditating, I youtubed a few videos on “how to meditate”. However, I was too busy with the hustle and bustle of life to take a moment to try it. About one month later, I came across some relaxing guitar music by coincidence. I clicked on the link (sharing video link below) and to my surprise, time seemed to freeze and I intently listened to the music. I felt that in the midst of my exhaustion, with the strum of each chord, my emotions were being released. I didn’t want to lose the meditative state I was in, so I leaned back in my chair and felt the positivity on the inside.
I’m listening to the same music while I write this post. I want to share these thoughts and my experience with all my Rugged Glam-ers out there. Yes, we are sometimes very Rugged, and sometimes very Glam, but we are always tuned in to the world around us. We Rugged Glam-ers might take notice of a bird chirping at a window while society expects us to be paying attention to man-made motivations. What they don’t realize is we ARE paying attention… but we are also attentive to life around us.
If you have never sat alone with your thoughts – meditated – connected – transcended – imagined – PRAYED – whatever you choose to do, know this: there is no right or wrong way to meditate; it is listening to your imagination and letting it run free. That is what creates your dreams and ambitions, so listen to it and let it guide you! Remember that your goal is one: to bring in positivity. Through these exploratory feelings, I’ve discovered that connecting to your soul is the best feeling in the world. It helps me think, it gives me clarity, it guides me to a path that I’m not in control of – it is warm, it is reassuring. My soul takes me where it wants to go and keeps me motivated, ambitious and a visionary. I love the feeling. I hope I will continue to imagine and explore…. And I wonder where it will take me next!
Here is a link to the guitar instrumental music which you might also enjoy. It is simple, repetitive and extremely soothing.
Rugged Glam-ers, whatever you want in life, picture it! Listen to some soothing music and dream about reaching that goal. Once you picture it, you’re soul will guide you on how to get there! You WILL get there! And lastly, don’t be afraid to DREAM BIG!!!
