FINALLY! FINALLY! YES! Saint Laurent’s 2017 collection has the Army Green Envelope Bag with gold hardware!
I have been dying for this color combination in this style for AGES! I am so in love with his color combination and I have always held off on buying one of the Saint Laurent handbags like the College Bag, Classic Monogram, Kate Bag, or other styles slightly resembling the Envelope Bag because while they’re all gorgeous – they weren’t EXACTLY what I wanted. But the Envelope Bag is, and it’s my all-time favorite of all the handbag ranges offered in Saint Laurent. It is also a classic and timeless style, so I figured I should continue to wait (and wait… and wait….) in order to get the precise color combination I wanted: The Army Green with Gold Hardware.
I am so in LOVE with this classic piece and am adding her to my “Timeless Pieces” handbag collection.
The Soft Envelope bag has excellent craftsmanship as you can see by the intricate quilting, chevron detailing…. oh and did I mention it is “Made in Italy” where everything in the luxury market is made to perfection?
What Color to Purchase: Honestly, this is a timeless classic so you can get it in whichever color you fancy (If you plan to purchase it for your own use and not resale…. if you plan to purchase as an investment, pick the Black and Gold color combo since they sell out the fastest and have a faster resale rate on the market)! I don’t plan to resell mine so I bought my favorite – Army Green!

I have wanted the army green color because for me, I find it to be a neutral. Not everyone will agree with me, I know… but in my world, and with my wardrobe, and my olive skin, and my Rugged Glam life,… Army Green IS the new neutral!
Personally, I did not purchased this as an investment piece. If I would have wanted an investment, I would have gone with the black and gold color combo since that will have the highest demand. But for me, I bought this as a classic piece for myself to enjoy for many years ahead and I don’t ever plan to sell it… so I got the exact color combination I wanted!
Hardware… Silver or Gold?: As for the hardware, you have the choice of ordering it in Silver or Gold…. but of course, I went with the Gold. The contrast of gold against green is bar none…. except blue and gold…. and black and gold…. and red and gold… and well – actually, GOLD goes with nearly everything! That is the Glam in me…. but I also love the Rugged look of black with silver hardware. Also, the navy blue and gray (known as dark anthracite) versions with silver looks badass.
Cost: The bag was not cheap and I definitely dished out some mucho dinero to get it (retails + tax / customs/duties)…. but as with most of my luxury buys, they remind me of the time and place in my life that I was when I was able to buy it. This is a gift to myself for 2017. I realize this year is nearly over and I have done so much in it; worked my cute butt off; and honestly, I deserve this! This handbag will mark and always remind me of a Job Well Done in 2017! (Is it weird that my workout top this morning said #TreatYoSelf on it? …. lol)

Styles: I went with the ” soft envelope ” bag versus the more structured ” envelope bag “. It just comes down to your preference – mine was definitely with the soft version 🙂 xoxo
Sizes: I went with the large soft envelope size because I want to be able to fit my iPad in there, etc. Btw, you can fit it in the back, outer pouch compartment for easy access (another reason I love this bag!)…
You also have the option of purchasing the smaller version… Note: the large is impossible to come across and SOLD OUT everywhere – seriously, nearly impossible to find – so I can’t find anywhere for you to get it yet except through placing a custom YSL boutique order….. but I did find the smaller version at Net-A-Porter which you can get by clicking HERE. YSL vs Chanel: Ok this is totally subjective! Both are comparable when it comes to material used, craftsmanship, esthetics, etc…. both fashion houses’ classics are equally awesome imo, but honestly for me…. I feel like the market is so saturated with Chanel! I also find that the Chanel gets scratched much more easily than the Saint Laurent. I have both but if I had to pick just one in the Boy Bag vs Envelope bag – I’d go with the YSL as I’ve always been a YSL girl! …. plus it’s cheaper… and this beautiful Saint Laurent in the “NEW NEUTRAL” color combo I picked was more of any Army Green to me versus the Chanel is more of an Olive Green….
For me, the YSL is simply perfect for me as a Rugged Glam-er! You can’t go wrong with either though!
